This weeks Diva Challenge was to try some new medium to tangle with. I decided to pick up LT’s colouring box. I used his big fat Crayola felt tips and his thin felt tips too. Gosh it was hard work. I just couldn’t be intricate or careful with them at all. It was actually very frustrating. However I quite like my final result.
I hope the Diva lady doesn’t mind, but I took inspiration from her poorly thumb. I live in a house of clumsy people, I am one of them. In fact just ask my mother about some of the accidents and misfortunes I’ve had over the years. (Or LT for that matter! He had to go to hospital with sandwich up his nose and Welshtroll had to have multiple surgeries after jumping off a bench and breaking his leg. We’re just that family!) So I fully sympathise with your poor thumb! I hope it’s feeling better soon.
LT is back at school as of today, so I’m hoping that I will manage to get a bit more crafty stuff or doodling stuff done over the next few days. The weather here is rather bleak at the moment. (Though not as extreme as it is in many parts of the world!) Today we had rain, hail and snow all within minutes of each other and all taking it in turns over and over. So sods law says that LT will end up with a snow day and all my plans will be doomed!
Anyway! Thank you for reading and take care.
I showed my sister the picture of the goat I did and she said “Do me a stag!” She has a
slight massive fixation with stags. So I said yes and spent the afternoon completing it. I used a Ben Kwok template from the FB page Ornation Creation. (You ought to go have a look, the templates are really good and he does them for free. Lovely, clever chap!) I enjoyed doing it but I admit that by the time I got to the antlers I was ready to be finished. I am not a fan of small spaces to fill. (Oh I feel a f’narr coming on!) I just don’t have a steady enough hand for it and to be fair I don’t have the patience for it either. So here he is, Alfred. Who within minutes of being sent to my sister will have been re-named Stephen, didn’t you know that any self respecting stag is called Stephen. It’s just the way of the world.
While I was sitting in the living room doodling my 5 year old (Little Troll/LT) came in and asked what I was doing. When I told him it was a picture for Aunty A he told me that he wanted to do one for her too. It was an amazing and sweet picture, complete with a map on the back to show her where the treasure is?! But! Until I have posted the picture to her I cannot possibly spoil the surprise and post it on here. So instead I have uploaded the picture he did of a volcano erupting and a Duckosaurus. It was very lovely and clever.
That’s it for now, I shall no doubt post again soon. Any suggestions for pics etc are gratefully received.
Take care and thanks for reading.
The “Crafty” section of my blog went a bit mad for a while there and has now been replaced, but I have been a rubbish blogger any way so I doubt anyone really noticed if I’m honest. This is a mini post that I’m going to link in a full blog post on my FPM section. My mum over at Magrats Craft taught me about Zentangle and all its glories last year. It is addictive and dangerous! However, it’s also very very fun! In the re-jig of this part of the site all my existing posts and pics have disappeared so I shall put them up again along with some new ones.
My most recent one is a Sheep/Goat for the “I am the Diva” challenge. Mum has been doing it for ages and I often go onto her blog to see what she’s done and then I end up wandering through the other folks works to see their take on the subjects. I decided today that I was going to give it a go. So here is my Chinese New Year Sheepy-Goat.
I would like to point out that there are few animals in this world I am scared of. However Sheep and Goats terrify me! Just ask my mother about being rescued by my dad from some killer sheep when I was younger!
Let me know what you think. All my other natterings will be posted on FPM shortly. Thanks for reading folks.
